Ban of meta runes from ranked

Some time ago @Sokolov had a plan to ban a selection of meta runes from ranked, spread across the factions . I would like to bring up that idea again.

Of course it has to be done with minimum harm to the playability of themes that aren't top tier.

Along with that I would love to see a ranked reset. Don't know how resource demanding that is, but it's about time.

What do you think? Vote away and feel free give inputs for and against.

 

Well if it was a temporary thing like "classic pox week" I'd be down but I'd be afraid of them turning it on and never coming back lol.

There should be options to tweak match set up parameters to allow old school play. i.e. runes from XX expansions.

 

They ran into the problem that most of the runes that would be banned are in the free decks and banning them made entire decks un-usable.

 

That's right. Then maybe exempt runes in the free decks?

 

So, ban rune X but allow it in free decks. So i can assume i'll never see rune X when TADAN my oppo use it because he was using a free deck. That's not logical to me

 

What I meant was, that none of the runes in the free decks will be banned. Easiest solution I can see.

That is the point. To shake up the meta.

rank doesn't matter anymore anyway so just grab someone willing to make a block deck and have some games.

I think it’s fair to ban the meta runes I do not use, but the runes I do use are hardly meta, they are simply the best my faction can manage and therefore should not be nerfed.

We already touched the subject concerning the pre-constructed decks. The easy solution would be to take them out of the ban pool.

Concerning the communication, I think it would be worth it, to shake off some of the staleness. In regards to the PSN players, they are unfortunately few and already subject to bans of problematic runes.


Where do you stand on the subject of doing a rank reset?
