Boost beasts doesn't work correctly when there are 2 sources of it available. If you have a unit within boost range and it comes under the effect of other source of the same boost, the first effect wears off (- stats for the champion) and the second starts to work (+ stats for the champion), but if you move the later source of boost, the unit will lost the stats despite being under the influence of a boost unit (It's like the first boost remains deactivated (if this is the method to avoid stacking)), if you move the booster or the unit out and in boost range, the effect reapplies correctly.
Yeah, this was a known issue for all boost abilities from before the revamp, but rest assured we are well aware of this problem.
