Bring back the rating system for players on the forums

I cant think of a single upside to be honest, but feel free to try and enlighten me.

 

Give a friendly poster a thumbs up, give the thread and poster more credit = make the posters day.

You spread happiness in the world, you're welcome.

 

Doesn't the "like" system already accomplish that?

 

Seems to me that a Like does the same.

 

The like system doesn't give rep to the thread/poster.

 

And. That is imo a good thing.
People should have their posts read based on its own merit not because the poster has gained a lot of reputation by alt/friend likes.

 

I propose Senshu renames the like button to the rep button.

What if we just turned off names and forum pictures? We'd have to judge people based on their personalities instead of their seniority! Heaven forbid that ever happens.

Back on topic now. Seriously, I need to be able to rate people on behalf of my feelings and shame them publicly for it

 

sometimes I'd like a "dislike" button, because there are ideas that are really bad, and pointing it out leads to lengthy discussions with a guy who has no clue about the matter but will still defend his point as long as he can, so a lot of people avoid saying that things are bad, and for that reason a really bad idea passes through as a ignored idea.
