and with this, the f2p experiment ends. your personal journey is interesting, but as a model for other players to follow, getting hand outs is not really a legitimate f2p strategy imo.

seriously boozha, seriously. if one of the goals of this thread is to showcase the f2p system, then someone else looking to play pox f2p can not expect the same level of progression as the poster unless they too find someone to give them runes. That's not very realistic. unless youre offering....

 

Considering how sharing this community usually is, its kind of realistic.

 

you dont even have to be in a guild to get a handout most ppl will be happy to share runes if they can assume you are not just an alt

 

and that's the system you think DoG should rely on? that the 100 or so players with runes to give away will bolster their stingy f2p pricing? maybe that will work for the first 100 new players to come along, but what about the other 10,000 they would like to have? Your generosity is commendable, but it isn't infinite.

 

What I'm saying is that generosity is part of F2P.

 

Well ragic, this is my actual experience, I found some cool guys that helped me out. I dont think im the only one who has, still... if this has become uninteresting or lost its sense we can forget about it

Ragic is right OP, a true F2P test is not factoring in veteran player donations, it's based on chance and not realistic.

 

I don't think the OP was originally intending to make this thread a commentary on a F2P system, but merely document his personal experience playing the game without dropping any money.

I don't fault him for accepting donations or making friends. Every new player has the opportunity to do the same and most new players (provided they are involved in the community) can find rune pools or vets willing to help with common runes in the forums.

 

I havent played with any built bg yet, and still dont know if I should :/.

I actually decided to play FW, because in the future id like to build a Stitched deck, so by playing FW I actually get some experience with the faction (one of them) and also collect the staple spells tu run with them. I dont think that because Damm and Ronan game me some SL runes thats the faction I should play, and they are ok with me trading this runes to build a FW deck . Im thinking to run either zombies or skeletons, what do you guys think is the best one to go with my limited amount of runes?

 

From those two, skeletons, but I would try with a goodstuff bg, that you can do without including rare+ runes and focus on getting the staples for the factions.

 

You will need to find a theme that actually works without expensive runes. There are some, but stitched, for example, will need stitched tyrants.
