Always hurts to say goodbye to friends. We werent friends, but I have been there and I know how it feels. You contributed a lot of good stuff to a lot of conversations.

I'm not use to this benevolence, usually what I find in humans is dissolute, disdained characteristics of narcissistic self-worth. But that's what you gotta do, you gotta love yourself if you want peace of mind. Kill animals, complain while others suffer, etc. Yup. Gotta do the do. (I'm contemplating whether I should post this. Oh well.)

 

I'd argue the opposite. Selfish behaviour is animalistic in nature (and by selfish I mean benefiting those you love). You see this in all animals, and of course this is an important part of human nature - everyone would choose to protect a loved one over someone they don't know, and that's okay. But one of the deifining features of humans is our ability to care about those we have never met, and will never meet.
