Huh. thats very odd. The installer itself is erroring out -- almost like like the installer itself was corrupted. The first thing is very much to try deleting the installer you got, and redownloading it. (which you said you did) Disable any anti-virus software running for the installation (and re-enable it later). Most people should not have to do this, but the the modern stuff is really aggressive and sometimes they can screw-up installations. Make sure you don't have any malware! They are nearly as bad as the anti-virus software in screwing up installations I really like malwarebytes If that does not work, when you run the installer, right click it and select "run as administrator"
It did mention something suspicious was up with the download, and it had to do with Malware. Is there someway to prevent it from reading that?
If you have malware on your system the best thing to do is remove it. It can be tricky, and they are enigneered to mess your system and not get removed I personally have had a lot of luck with malwarebytes, and they are free so thats good too!
Alright, I've downloaded Malwarebytes, and I've detected alot of Malware. But I don't see an option to remove them, am I missing something?
Yeah if you have an infected system all bets are off as to where the problem could have happened! With Malware bytes there is a "remove selected" button once its found anything. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/how-to-use-malwarebytes-anti-malware-tutorial if you did find 'a lot' of malware you may have a few viruses that are messing you up too! Cortices is a big fan of avast. I would suggest you run something like that after your malware problem is solved, then re-download the pox installer (as your current download could be corrupted. Sorry you're having so many problems on that system!
This didn't work out for me. I did find malware, and got them removed, but no luck. Isn't there any alternatives or must I wait for a fix?
There is no "fix", it appears your file is corrupted by some other process. If you can cleared out any malware AND viruses. Then I would re-download the installer (now that nothing will mess with it) and re-install. If you get the same error, try right clicking on the installer and do "run as administrator"
I've done all of the above, the error continues to appear. I doubt anything else is messing with the installer, considering I have no applications open as I install it.
i have the exactly same problem. Did not have any problems like this before. I think there must be something wrong with the launcher. I run on a Vista system.
