Your belief is in error. Polltroy has been running that KF/SL bg for more than a year: Wiz of Ways w/portal, den mothers, and that crazy SL garu with init and reinforce that deploys with 11 AP or some such. Grim's mirror on the GDM (or the Drak/Garu if it's an emergency), and rely on the stupidity of either a) free summoned meat, or b) luck-based font-grabbing.
This idea is asinine, just look at Garu Den Mother's abilities and tell me that makes sense with its design.
I never understood why pets weren't seriously distraught when their master/owner/mother/whatever got offed. If I were that cub, I'd probably be crying for a few turns or something. I remember huntmaster bound used to be a thing, but that only applies to the one unit
This may not be a perfect fix but what if pets came into play the round after the original champ is deployed (on the same spot)?
So redesign the rune/all pet champs who cares. It's not like I am going to accept the argument that GDM is ok in anyway. KF has access to 3 meta champs that spawn free champs on deploy.
Also, 1, 2, and 4 weren't really me. 1 came after I left, 2 and 4 I could have changed, but everyone could make a list like this about other people's factions, and it's hard to classify those as "overbuff during my reign" when they were neither the result of buffs or things I introduced. I am sure you have more examples though
And there are other spells like snowblind that have no timer (Lifeshield, Dark Pact, False Orders, Whispers of the Mind)
