no the old client is installed in another way/place so i dont think its any conflict. atleast ive been able to run both clients on my 3 crazy old laptops without conflict. besides hearing the fan spin and getting the heat up in the room so i have to open the windows and doors and melt away the sun on the artic...

tried running the launcher as admin? right click it and run as admin?

Well, from the look of things, maybe your machine is junk.

    if you're still having problems:

    1. download revo uninstaller and make sure you uninstall through the scan (files and folders - it will walk you through it)
    2. go to ninite and make sure you're completely updated
    3. system restart
    4. reinstall it

There is (was) a problem with 32-bit windows, I guess you have that, allthough windows Vista can be 64-bit also?
Not sure if the steamclient has solved those problems, did you try from the website or with using steam??

The new client should run on 64bit Vista. One of my machines is Vista, but since Vista is officially not supported by Microsoft it is not an ideal Operating System.

You shouldn't have any problems if you have a 64bit OS so that would be the first thing to find out.

Do you mean you are not able to open Steam itself or the Pox Nora app within Steam. If you can't open Steam it sounds like there may be a larger problem involved. You may want to do a virus and malware scan of your computer.

Your Windows is a 32-bit installation, not sure if that Dell computer is a 32-bit, think it is so "new" it could/should handle 64-bit windows.
Problem is that you would need to install a 64-bit windows. Afaik there is no way to just change from 32 -> 64bit without reinstallation

No, there's no way to change 32 to 64-bit without reinstalling. I checked and the T5750 processor is a 64-bit processor, so if you do have a license for Windows that supports 64-bit, you can do so on this PC. I would recommend doing so, many applicaitons now are released only as 64-bit applications.
