How to obtain Champion*

I realized some champions have * next to their name and those champion could have different set of abilities.

Question is, how do you get them?

 

They have the same set of abilities as their non-* counterparts and are the runes included in the free decks acquired through the Tutorial and campaigns.

 

sometimes you get them in packs, but they can't be traded :/

They don't always have the same abilities, look at Barbarian Bolt* and Barbarian Bolt

 

They shouldn't really exist anymore I don't believe. Not sure when they will be taken out.

 

A lot of site cleanup like this needs to happen

 

Except I just got a Macadamized and a Macadamized* in the same booster pack (I thought same names weren't allowed to double up). Apparently star cards are actually a thing?
Edit: I lied, apparently the booster was glitched into showing that I got 2 cards... seems like I only got one (or maybe I was swindled out of a card hmmmm)
