I felt a swelling of Dutch/European pride listening to Geert Wilder's Speech to Turkey

Again, some populist rhetoric and then broad racism to spice it all up. He's got a point in saying that Turkey has no right in being in the European Union. Even identifies Erdogan as an/the issue. And it's true, Erdogan is a piece of human garbage and should be treated that way. However, this has nothing to do with "Islam" in general.

because the Turkish nationality does not require you to be born in Turkey, you just need a Turkish parent.
so loads of people have dual citizenship and are eligible to vote in the Turkish election and in their referendum.

This has been an issue for some time but requires time and diplomacy. the Turkish overstepped a line when they sent ministers over to campaign after having been told NOT to do so. and yes the people that rioted can get ****ed for all I care but this is real life and there are no easy and quick solutions.
