The turn timer went back to 2 minutes. It was cut during CorpsE's reign where he was promoting power creep and extremely rush orientated play for quicker matches. Thankfully the game has moved away from that somewhat and theres at least a slight increase in actual strategic gameplay. In theory, assuming we got new players, it gives a little extra time to read abilities and scope out runes they haven't seen before. I know people like to say being able to think and act quickly is part of the game and a skill that should be developed etc etc, but it wouldn't make a difference to old players and it would certainly help newer people learning the game. I have one of the largest and most active guilds and it has a surprising amount of new players I'm helping to learn the game and the turn timer is something a few of them have mentioned to me, that its too short, so I thought id bring this topic up for discussion again. Thoughts ?
I like the short turn timer. It often gives me an advantage against slower opponents. At times you get screwed by the timer but as long as you are focused its fine.
Eh 1:45 is time enough, maybe an option to get extra time 1 to x times per game. But 2:00 was too much. Games can be long enough as it is.
1:45 for ranked games seems ok to me. New players can learn the game at their own pace in training matches.
Make the timer 15mins ...... I WANNA MAKE SURE I MAKE THE RIGHT MOVE....... GAWDD..... SO MANY OPTIONS, SO LITTLE TIME.
1:45 2 mins is just waaaaaaaay to long to plan your turn. That said, turn timer is something that I often suck with when taking long hiatus, however the more I play a certain bg, you make and see the moves a lot faster.
Frustration felt when your turn ends too early > frustration felt waiting for an extra fifteen seconds And let's not pretend the vast majority of turns never even go to 1:45
Alternatively, we could reduce the turn time to a flat 1:00, and really get those brain juices flowing!
