It is a well known fact that some maps make some abilities more powerful. Currently if you face a fs bg on lily pad stage you're at a huge disadvantage. Here is my suggestion: Put a tax for certain abilities on maps. For example on FS lily pad map all amphibious champions cause + x nora on St map with lots of fonts all flying champions cost + x nora thoughts?
This is just a bad idea. Amphibious champs should pay more when their ability is actually usable? The point of amphibious is that it gives a mobility advantage in water. Why should some abilities have to pay more when pretty much all abilities have a situation in which they shine? Should units with 7-8 SPD cost more nora on maps where the fonts are closer together? Should all range units pay a tax on maps where there are more obstacles in the field? We're already addressing this by moving back to a system where abilities have set nora costs. Those costs should take into account the risk-reward possibilities of having various maps.
I like to imagine the developers as jugglers trying to keep a bunch of balls in the air. Of course, I am sure it wouldn't be asking too much to have them juggle a few more balls to adjust ability costs based on individual maps. Oh wait. Yes, it would. FYI, when the original metric was around, flying was a huge cost because it offered advantages; then the metric went away and lots of things started flying and many of them were pretty cheap/efficient. Plus Aquatic was much harder to play with fewer efficient puddlemakers. What you want may be addressed in the revamp without a lot of extra work to fine tune things for maps.
