My computer has 8 gigs of ram, yet I can't even get through the loading of the launcher via steam. What is up? I'm just trying to get my moog.
What is your OS? Might post your dxdiag as well. I haven't seen a common thread yet to try to tie this error down yet. Have you tried running Steam as an Administrator?
The same problem is happening to me. 8 gb of ram too. Also, run steam as administrator seems not to fix it. EDIT: forcing the game/java to run using my graphic card instead of the integrated one, fixed the problem for me.
I have a laptop with Optimus, which normally set games to use the crappy integrated graphic card if the graphics are not demanding. Through the Nvidia Control Panel, you can choose what card you want the program to use: I chose the dedicated one and I was finally able to log in without the "out of memory" error.
