@davre I've decided not to take half of everything you earned this year. what do you plan on doing with all that money I just GAVE you?

That doesn’t make any sense. Why would we hold the cash if we are paying interest on it?

Bad terminology, replace holding with investing.

how are you going to pay to repair the roads, the fire departement, his hospital bills and the police and such?
or are you just a very confused idiot in your analogy rather than a goverment? borrow it from foreign countries?

I like how people have gone from:
OBAMA IS INCREASING OUR DEBT TO CHINA AND THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE
    to
    DEBT DOESN'T MATTER

so you plan on using the money I gave you to repair a road? that's nice.

no that would be economically unsustainable to do on a "everyone pays for their own little stretch of road" way. it would be far cheaper to pool everyones money to then contract certain individuals who specialise in road maintenance, the best way to do this is to implement some sort of tax. we will need some people to make sure the money is pooled and spent correctly.

    also you are ******** Ragic.

lol Ragic, when you find yourself arguing alongside Baskitkase and Super, maybe it's time for some introspection.

Ragic also didn't give me money,
    I think the way he tells it it is more like;
he stole the roads everyone needs to get places
he stole the fire department putting out fires
he stole medical care from those that needed it.

I think these are bad things to do.

I make the point that a tax reduction is not 'giving' money. I even capitalized the word GAVE to make it super obvious. yet the liberal mindset completely missed it. instead they retreat to the us vs them mentality and try to turn it into a popularity poll. why am I not surprised.

I have so much to say about so much here, but I also feel this same sentiment.

If I remember correctly, Franklin was talking about standing together as a nation, specifically in a time of crisis (the whole American Revolution stuff). I could be wrong though.

Also, as much as it may seem that the typical "Murican" is very selfish, they aren't necessarily. The "Murica" style Americans typically give more to charity, do more for their community, build businesses, work with the government to improve infrastructure, etc. etc. American ideals often include a strong sense of individualism and national pride. Though it might be more accurate to say they "love their country and the ideals they associate with it, despite the flaws they recognize, and as most people do with loved ones, they will defend it/them against threats and "people talking bad about them". You'll note that most of the "American nationalists" aren't fond of increased government, and are very critical of the government (most of the time..).

Many Americans also believe (rightly so, imo) that our nation can best help other nations only while at our own best and taking care of ourselves. Many of those same Americans believe that many of the more recent globalist ideals have been detrimental to actually helping people (the truth of that belief is up for debate, but that is what they believe). I personally feel that most of the time, globalist policies mostly benefit large international corporations (they're the ones that lobby for it the most...), and those corporations rarely actually care about improving anyone's live other than their own.

i do mention you guys in general conversation, but normally as one of two things.

the first, how odd certain viewpoints are to me / a bit of confirmation that some people actually do believe some crazyass things

the second, how discussing politics / other serious topics online in groups with people you've never met / likely will never meet in any physical setting is often a pretty pointless endeavor

and yeah raggy, this forum is fairly sane. even the crazy parts of it are fairly sane.

To be fair, I like to think that while we play rough, it's mostly in good spirit. If we all got together for a beer, we'd make it work.

Eh, where else can we ***** about other things. Other online sites are.. uhm... terrible.
