Trolls were better when defense and high hp ment something, now their are too many ways around defense and too many ways to increase damage. Anything that looks like range destroys them also. Another issue with grints is two of their better units now are large units, which get punished on just about every map with the terrain and silly impassable spots for 2x2s.
