I feel that the guy is not as tanky as I feel he should be, what upgrades do you choose on him and also, any equipment or spells that you like to slap on him? General ideas?
I don't use him/play ranked, but I'd suggest a nefari guardian. If they can get rid of the reaver, they normally can get rid of any spells/equips. Faithless makes him harder to equip/spell and he is expensive already. bloodbow infantry can create bloodballs for the reaver to pick up... dark pact might help against some spells as essence drain/doom/? Molten cloak is a good equip too, mostly for the immunities. Don't feel bad to sacrifice him.
He's more of a generalist than a tank - he has decent damage output and good survivability with arrow eater and perseverance but doesn't excel at either. Personally I take shield throw and blood frenzy 1 for a cheap build with extra utility but I think all possible builds are viable.
