Want to get into UD

So i used to play allot and then i left and came back life half the population of pox but this time i want to do something different and that just happens to be UD. I normally like to make split bg's that try to abuse niche ablities or combine things from themes so i'm not great at making FF bg's. I want to make an UD bg though and price is kinda no object so my question is, Where do i start?
-What themes are meta atm?
-What spells/equips/relics are auto includes?
-What should i be ready to counter?
-Where can i get a Max?
-and does anyone want to trade me for TOG an K

 

poxbox.net has most runes you'll need but the prices are kind of Bane Shift

as for what to out in a bg, there's a few different good stuff out there right now. Minotaur are good and mobile, deep elves are decent enough, imps are OP, bleed is meh, anti range is great, and plenty more like a maxx bg.

good spells would be retribution, sacrifice, boomerang, mindstorm, price of victory, shatter, masochism, dark pact

relics would be orb of protection, mark of sheoul ofc, and maybe fire ruby if it's a fire bg.

equips are demon shield, and blood draught.

There's plenty of stuff i'm leaving out but this is just basic stuff. wish there were a thread around here for UD players that got a sticky

I usually just rune 1 of a spell instead fo double on any of them, not required.

What about a max fire type bg? Does it work?

 

Vothsair Ireguards, pincushions, deep elf scouts and tinderboxes are your friends.

Phoenix is lovely too.

And I like my Demon Liches for utility.

 

the best thing to do for maxx is make a bg specifically around moving him around the board. DE priestess, sheoull monstrosity and DE infiltrator all have relocation abilities.

for fire, I would recommend looking at poxbase and typing in fire amp and seeing who would be the best in that case. Fire can pack a huge punch once you get it rolling

Thanks allot gys! I didn't reallly think UD had a community but i see they do now. I'll be posting my bg's soon on here. I got a fait amount of stuff on the trader so if your looking for runes from other factions and are willing to trade UD go and bid.

 

So why isn't everyone running a pox renevator in UD? and how much do thoose cost?

 

eh, not as good as you might think.

Try goblin archer and attack with him last to proc encouraged, or one of the bow chicks (shock/blood). Grimlic is also a very good option for just about every bg in UD.

I play quite a bit of UD but not really fire, so I am no expert.

I would drop Banish for a Tinderbox.

Firemaw is very costly. Try out a Phoenix maybe.
