counter argument for what? what is this thread about? vid looks and sounds like a right wing circlejerk so I did not feel captivated.
I managed 20 minutes. Do you seriously expect people to watch a 2 hour video? The guy wasn't too bad compared to most videos like this, he almost seemed reasonable when he was talking about how positive discrimination by race was missing the point and that it would be better to discriminate by economic background or class background... the host liked the race thing, but seemed a little uncomfortable with his darling talking about the disadvantages of poverty and quickly moved him on. Then it went a bit weird imagining the current situation as a parallel of the eve of the Russian revolution or the victory of the facists over the communists in Germany. He was taking some relish in saying how weak the antiwotsits are an how the alt-right would crush them (the mask was slipping a bit at this point). Then he went into the old thing of defining words and saying this is the true definition of the word and the others who use the word wrongly are stupid trick. then i decided i'd lasted long enough. watched a bit more, he is talking about conformism on the left --- i do actually agree with this, and find it a bit weird, though i don't have any idea what he is talking about totalitarianism for.
liberalism is for uneducated wankers. it's contradictory, authoritarian and resembles fascism way too much. watched a bit of the video, he mostly says all of the stuff that I know anyway.
i'd recommend watching more of it. It tries to delineate between classical liberal and this new SJW / feminazi / antifa crap. But I wanted someone more in the know to confirm what they were saying about 'classical liberalism' which doesn't sound too bad, or provide a link to someone who defines it otherwise. I was also curious to see if that Rubin Report site was on the 'alt right list' of any crackpot lefties around here.
some ideas of classical liberalism are alright imo, but still, it's already got a decent amount of radical notions -- that have subsequently developed with great ease -- which I've come to grow to vigorously oppose since I believe that they always lead to really idiotic bullsh**. ( it seems to be like some kind of predilection in humans -- my judgement comes from analysing how religious and ideological movements form and dissolve.)
You have to artificially create economic problems for any kind of socialism to begin working. This is why all socialism will fail in the end. The socialism runs til the movement eats itself. Sooner or later you run out of other peoples money and it is no surprise to watch an entire country cannibalize itself or gaslight the citizens into believing the system is working while it is a shell of its former self. It starts with the country nationalizing its greatest resource, soon after price controls emerge, then the next thing that happens is healthcare is socialized and doctors quit because they aren't making enough money to cover overhead costs. When service based companies and producers begin to implode the gov't tries to subsidize everything with the taxpayers money. Inflation will take care of the rest then the carpetbagger politicians que up and bring in the rest of the scavengers to sell off the country. In the end all socialism is just a giant ponzi scheme created by a bunch of zionists to control everyone. Minarchist libertarianism with free trade and hardly any gov't intervention is the way to go. Let the free market reign and fck the opportunist politicians who are nothing but parasites.
I'm curious what you see as the difference between libertarianism and neo-liberalism? I see a lot of United Statsians talk about how awful neo-libralism is with one breath an then say they are 'libertarians' with the other, if this is you could you outline how they are different.
