I buy mine from AJ's Fine Foods, which has a sushi bar, and so it's the same fish they put in their sushi. Never had an issue - and it'd better not, since it's way more expensive than standard fish.
Congrats on the tasty fish. My wife and I just bought a steamer and made our first steamed red snapper for our fall moon festival. Yum.
I have a huge pot for steaming that I rarely use, but it is 100% required for certain things, like Chawanmushi.
