Also there are better psychic options now. If you are running psychics you want 2 extispicers at least. I also like running a single jellebrium mindbender. Neuromancers and the new darkmarsh siphon are also pretty handy.

Are you reffering to Mind Meld? Where does it say it needs 4 firks out? This champion has +1 DMG for each friendly real champion with Attack: Psychic or that shares a race with this one. Those champions gain 25% of the DMG bonus if they do not have Mind Meld. This effect is rounded down and does not stack.
It doesn't directly say it, but 25% of the bonus DMG is provided to other champs that count toward the benefit, so it's functionally +1 DMG when Mind Meld is giving at least +4 DMG (or 4 Firks/Attack: Psychic champs). If you end up with 8 (unlikely in most games), Mind Meld champ would get +8 while the others would get +2 DMG.
