There is an art to unobviously killing s shrine, but I laffs when people try and kill them transparently.
@DMrBadguy When I play KF/UD/SP I do the same thing. Spot DMG can easily be found in a plethora of spells/equips/abilities across all factions, thats hardly an issue. Whats funny, as calisk pointed out, is people not realising thats the only win condition of the game.
don't see anything that would of stop borghas shrine bombing, or kf's super long range champ's. fw could do a lot with mobil power turns.
This is the best thread ive seen for a long long time. This is exactly what pox needs. A balance patch to make the defensive "trade champs" meta gamestyle have an alternative in shock shrine rushing. I too always in the past enjoyed this game exactly for the many games where i could start fighting champs or fonts, but then suddenly change focus entirely on the shrine, sometimes giving a win, sometimes a loss. Either way it always made games unpredictable and fun both for me and opponent. I feel lately, it has become more and more difficult. I was hoping this gameply could be back after revamp, but to my dissapointment, it seems result of revamp was slowing game dow even more. Even more, giving themes like trees big role and still letting summons and relic spam make it difficult to make surprise attacks. Also the few champs who could allow for these kinds of agressive gameplay, usually are very very quickly nerfed to oblivion after they are found by some player. I do believe that the reason for this is because meta players try to protect their ranks and those who are on top must play the non-risky booring gameplay of trading champs. Reason for that is probably because although an agressive gameplay can be very effective sometimes, it also has alot of risks of loss and to lose against a low ranker gives such quick rankloss so its impossible to maintain a high rank with this strategy. At least with current state of game. So my advice: tone down abit on the avatar/shrine protection OR tone down the defensive spam play style OR stop nerfing offensive champs as soon as they are used effectively. Some examples (yes again) of such agressive champs that were nerfed away from me are: rascal fairy (long ago), wizard of the ways, sl garu, AA. And some nostalgia: what got me hooked in this game after some unsuccessfull test games was when someone applied a flying earth golem on me and rushed my shrine. That was soo cool and just something i wanted to do too, so i started to buy more runes... so shrine rushing a newbie can create and oldie sometimes.
After I read this sentence I immediately forgot all you posted before, and disregard everything afterwards. Thanks.
Well since you have taken this view, you have clearly convinced yourself there is only all or nothing. And since you perceive yourself to be an addict and complete cessation of pox is the only means to the end of recovery, then it is so. Your perception is your reality and I wish you the best of luck
He's refering to double-casting Hatching Season followed by a Firestorm to finish the Shrine. This was a thing back when the relics had Spell Presence EDIT: Dammit, ninja'd.
IMHO the worst thing to happen to this game was the "Avatar", and related shrine abilities. I always felt like it undercut a major strategy, especially for the person starting to lose/get snowballed. Hats off to anyone who can still get one of those amazing, unexpected last ditch effort shrine kills
before avatars half the games were lost to things like 9 speed thunder hoofs charging your shrine and 4 hitting it, or 100 nora stealthed imps 3 hitting it, in other words shrine rushing had been growing far to rampant.
