    Right, cause the original trilogy espoused ethics, ideals, and beliefs that an older generation had. A better set of things to live by imo.
    The new trilogy espoused ethics, ideals, and beliefs that are more in tune with the majority of people today, that is, liberals. They made the Sith (the bad guys) absolutists, politicians, and more religious. Things that the current generation has been taught to dislike. Whereas the Jedi were more like scientists, policeman (all powerful ones at that), and very "science" based (as opposed to the more religious version in the original trilogy).

    Basically, it catered to the audience. That's what media does, it's how they make money. The only reason the media ever says anything that opposes their audience is either because they can make more money off it, or because someone actually has some backbone (so rare now).
