unforuntately the spell isnt the source of the damage. All the spell does is fill the font with fire type terrain. Which will deal 12 damage to every enemy occupying it at the start of their turn

It would pretty much be the same as getting the IS bonus to work on stuff like pygmy hippo stampede

An even closer comparison would be Open the Earth. The IS bonus reduces the 8 damage dealt by the spell, but not the 4 damage dealt by the terrain. In the case of Fiery Ambush, all the damage is dealt by terrain.

As mentioned previously Fiery Ambush is essentially terrain damage. darklord48 gives the best example possible. +1
