Goresplosion doesnt work properly in the following cases: #1 when you cast it on a 2v2 unit, instead of dealing damage within 3 spaces of the unit, it only deals the 12 damage within 3 spaces of the square wherein you cast the spell. It works like an aoe3 spell centered on the tile where you cast it. I dont know if this is WAI, but in my understanding of the text, it SHOULD deal the 12 damage within the aoe3 of the 2v2 space the 2v2 unit occupied. #2 Death nova doesnt proc. Unlike other abilities that "Sacrifices" a champ, Goresplosion disables the effect of death nova. EDIT: oops. wrong section of the forum. can someone move this to the Bug Reporting section?
Sacrifice disables all on-death effects, so it's working as intended. Other spells like Repurpose that triggers them are bugged. Also I agree it would be flavourful if it's AoE were based on the champ, but it's description says "within 3 spaces" so it's working as described. I suggest you mention it on the Cactuar Crate in General Forum.
