What reason is there to suppress "inconvenient" truth?

    they don't have to be religious, all that is needed is for them to fall into the "us vs them" mindset with 'us' being; people who look like their family comes from a predominantly muslim area and 'them' being; the people they perceive as discriminatory against those people.

    you guys also often fall into that mindset.

    ah. so religious as in muslims as in jews as in the group of people
    not religious as in an actual fervent believer?

    Correct.

    I make a distinction between "religious" and "faithful".
    Religion is simply a way to identify oneself and guidelines to live by. While having faith in your religion is what makes people have any sort of passion for it, those people usually know more about the religion and tend to be calmer (not always, of course). It's semantics, but that is how I think of it. For me, it is easier to think of it that way in order to distinguish between, say for example, "Jewish" (religious and tending more towards just a culture), and "Jews" (faithful to the "Jewish" religion).

    I can see how it can be confusing, I will try to be more specific in how I'm using my terms in the future.
