Well, it's known that every faction has a number of topics that matter the most of them and will try and press to get changes that favours them. This is a space to secretely discuss what matters the most to FS players and what could be done to achieve it. You can think "what does it have of secret?" well, it IS secret, but you don't realize because you are allowed to view the information. I kinda want it, but I'm kind of afraid of it. I'll think about more stuff I wanted, but for now, how about Darkmarsh Sorcerer working as a nice cheapish DEF counter with some anti-spell? Made a post about it in another thread some time ago, btu I haven't looked through t to see if I'd change anything from then:
any chance we could have discussions on tank busters? strike or otherwise. i find that's something we cannot handle very well. (us killing tanks that is)
Yep, it's hard sometimes. I run a lot of non targeted damage, plus slam, drown, darkmarsh helm and slick and buzz (metamorphosis) but all of that requires setup and a lot of things like a dreadnought ignore half of them and you cannot chip away either
Possible tank softeners: A unit with soften (easy, sherlock) candidates? A unit with magic bomb, Darkmarsh sorcerer rework? some other option? A unit with low damage but with a gap closer (preferably) and pummel + sunder, blackhand or thunderfist slight rework? A unit with shred defense, Infiltrator rework? (fs champion change thread) Increase target classes on tome of the arcanis (metamorphosis)? Ask why people don't run darkmarsh helm?
My secret agenda is that I actually want Turtle Rider to not suck; and am not merely using that rune as an example of how silly I feel the efforts to buff "all" the shoebox runes are..
I don't think you can get all three of those very easily. Cheapish and DEF Counter or Cheapish and anti-spell, or DEF Counter and Anti-Spell. Aside from that, I don't think it needs to cover both roles (at least not at the same time). It just needs to do one and not suck at it. Given current sentiments and the recent buffs to Lotus Altar, I think DEF Counter would be the more appropriate, but I'm sure many liked it's older anti-spell flavor, so who knows.
I think it's 2x auto in FF FS (at least if you like to play more on the agressive side, like me). In splits I often don't have the room, sadly.
I include it as x1 in most of my FS bgs. x2 is rough with all the other stuff you have to counter these days.
