Is this a bug? Crystal Guardian

So crystal guardian is body guarding a Champ X and activated crystallize. Champ X gets hit with basic magic attack from range. Guardian crystallizes. Next attack hits champ X and Guardian still takes the damage. Should crystallize prevent the damage?

 

I've tested this before and for my dissapointment and frustration, the Crystalized condition removes the Guarding status.

 

Is it supposed too, I wonder if the spell removes it

 

I know that Impervious prevents Guarding as well so likely on purpose.
