sure people wanna go to america since they've been braiwashed into believing that materialistic achievements are the only way to become happy. almost every nation thinks they're the best, and just because your military dominates the world today, that doesn't mean that you're the best. In fact, culturally speaking, your heritage is pretty poor. I'd much rather pick a poor country but with a rich cultural heritage instead of a one which can only be proud of it's military power and transient wealth. so yeah, if I were to pick for example between Russia and America -- bear in mind that Russia is really unstable and ****ed I have no problem at all living in an english speaking country (I lived in England for around 7 years) -- I would always pick Russia. Why? Well, because in spite of its poorness and corrupted law system it's literaturocentric, it cherishes its culture, its got a paradoxically great level of education and there's a good amount of people that you can talk to about something that doesn't revolve around the mundanities of everyday life. Oh, and it also doesn't have all that cultural marxism SJW bullsh**.

I forgot who said it before, but stumbled upon it now. Food for thought.

Dwight D. Eisenhower, US President, 16th or April 1953 (shortly after death of Stalin)

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.
This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population. It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some fifty miles of concrete pavement. We pay for a single fighter with a half-million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people. . . . This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron.

He’s basically saying that the more money you allocate to defense, the less you have for social programs. We’re 100% ok with this. Somehow, even with learning algebra 2 years later the Great Satan still has the greatest advances in military. I get that this makes you pouty. You have free mental healthcare to help with this so you’ll be just fine.

you are seemingly okay with a lot of things.
things decent people are not okay with.
things that will not be soon forgotten.
    equilibrium will restore eventually.
we're just saying you should ease yourself into it.
    we are still allies afterall.
    ... for now.

    Uh.
    Sure.

Also, Uni. Healthcare is very much a socialist style thing. That doesn't technically make it a bad thing, just that many Americans dislike Socialism/Communism, or at least the implications/ideals etc. behind it (even if they like some socialist programs we have...).

I am very curious as to what you mean by "false freedoms". Do you mean: "You think you're free but you aren't."?

Last I checked the US wasnt even in the top 10 of most free countries in the world.

I might elaborate some other time, but tldr I believe you guys are so hung up by a false idea of freedom that you are Firking yourselves over big time. See net neutrality, wealth inequality, overly religious influences, etc

Everybody knows that the best way to dominate the world is to ask China for a few trillion in loans so that you can allocate your nation's resources to tax breaks for your party's donors. That's just good business.

Define "freedom". That is usually a big stickler definition for those kinds of things, many people care more about certain freedoms over others.

The sad thing is that Burn doesn't realize how bad striving to be country with "the most free stuff" is. I mean, is it just absolutely free or is it actually just "you don't have to pay for it"? Nothing is free. Someone pays.

We've been conditioned to think debt is bad. Debt is just one of many asset management tools. I hold plenty of debt. If I have 1000 dollars, and I need a car that cost 1000 dollars but I can earn 10% through my own money management and the bank will loan me the 1000 dollars at 6% I net the 4% extra. In addition, I also retain the option to utilize cash.

The only thing a creditor can do is 1) collect, 2) sell the debt (in big money, this is almost always at a loss, or discount) or 3) offer settlement.

There is no real power in debt at this level. The only thing it can do is cause people to consider a lower credit rating for the debtor because they have no right to call the loan (demand immediate full repayment) and they also have no authority to sell the debt.

The person holding the cash almost always wins. You can choose to pay off your debt when it suits you, you can choose to displace your debt with goods if it suits you, you can hear offers of settlement from the debt-holder when it suits you and you can make offers of settlement to the debt-holder when it suits you.

Lastly, is the risk of default. This might seem like a bad thing for USA, but its actually leverage. If the US economy crashes, the collateral damage will absolutely lead to a worldwide eco-collapse. No one will allow this.

What does it boil down to? Basically, the debt is just fake numbers because the debtor holds all the power in this case.

In the event of a world-wide eco collapse, who wins, the guy who spent his 1000 dollars on more tangible defense/self investment or the guy holding a paper that says U OWE ME BRO?

You are missing the point. I'll put it as simple as I can by using another one of those US all time favorites. If you don't understand why a society should band together, maybe you shouldn't be part of one. If mankind ever wants to advance to the next stage, we should put all of those who believe only in themselves on a separate island. You can all enjoy yourselves on your own while the rest of us tries to do something productive for humanity while we are here. However small that contribution may be.

We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.
    - Benjamin Franklin

You didn't earn any of the advancements that humanity has made over thousands of years. If you're not willing to help society, society should spit you back out. In an ideal world, so that we can actually get somewhere as a species and not just overpopulate with a declining level of living.

We are prioritizing advancing the American society over the global society. We are doing it in a way that’s different than you think is best. Stop misquoting dead people, lol, can you not speak for yourself? Socialistic ideas are great but they are not what has gotten us to where we are. And they are not the ONLY way to advance. They also come at great cost and opportunity cost and being a socialist society means you’re mediocre at best and a complete failure at worst- in the long term. If we’d adopted your way many years ago we’d be some rando middling country as well and you’d be whining about some other country.

For the life of me, I can't understand how someone so intelligent is so blinded by this idea of socialism that you're willing to drive the majority of people into the ground out of principle,

(The US government isn't holding the cash, they gave it away to business moguls who are only loosely tied to the United States because, as you mentioned, globalization is a thing).
